National Adoption Month

Tis the season! November is the most appropriate month to put some pressure on society to place an unknown child into their home. With the holidays coming up, what a gift it would be for these kids to have a home and a family to celebrate with! And since it takes time to get licensed, now is the time to start.

I heard someone say recently, “If you are against abortion, now is the time to put your money where your mouth is.” If this makes you squirm in your seat, maybe your heart is squirming, too. But the idea of having a stranger come into your home is SO uncomfortable. I’ve said it before – I totally understand that feeling! I still feel uncomfortable with it…and we’ve had 8 kids come through our home. You’re uncomfortable, I’m uncomfortable, the kids are uncomfortable. It’s an all-around uncomfortable situation.

So I’m going to do what I can to spread awareness, personal experiences, resources, and advice on fostering and adoption every day (or multiple times a day) during the month of November. I’m not an expert, but I have some experience. Maybe you’ve thought about becoming a foster parent or adopting. Maybe you know someone who’s thought about. Or maybe there are soon-to-be and current foster parents who might find some relief here. I’m just going to post what God puts on my heart and trust that it will speak to those who need it.

Here are a few faces that are looking for a forever home. You can click on their images for more information.
