We got our license in 2018, and quite a process it was. Looking back, I wouldn’t I have had any other way. It has led up to this moment. Right now I have son who is sitting on the couch playing a game with his cousin. This would not be happening if we waited until we were “ready”. Because the truth is we would never feel ready.

I was reading John 4 the other day where Jesus tells His disciples that NOW is the time to do God’s work. He tells them to look around because fields are ripe for harvest, meaning many people are ready to receive God’s word and be saved.

There are children who are ready right now. They are waiting to be saved.

The process can be long and frustrating, but it’s worth it…even if it means saving just one. Even if it’s not adoption. You can foster and save a child by showing them what stability within a home looks like. That child may just be inspired enough to break the cycle they’ve come from, to look towards a future full of hope and possibilities because they’ve seen it in you.

“You know the saying, ‘Four months between planting and harvest.’ But I say, wake and look around. The fields are already ripe for harvest. The harvesters are paid good wages, and the fruit they harvest is people brought to eternal life. What joy awaits both the planter and the harvester alike!” ~John 4: 35-36
